About The Position
Prestige Fleet Services is hiring a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to perform maintenance, inspections, and repairs on Class 6–8 trucks and trailers at customer locations. The position uses company-provided technology for work orders and documentation, while also requiring the mechanic to obtain parts from local vendors and manage inventory on the service truck. The company describes itself as a locally run, family-oriented fleet maintenance network focused on quality repairs and customer service. First and second shifts are available.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections.
- At least 2 years of experience in truck or trailer maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Valid driver's license.
- Communication skills.
- Self-motivation and strong organization and planning skills.
- Ability to use a computer or tablet to process work orders, enter labor hours, and update work-order statuses.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must possess appropriate tools.
- Ability to work extended or irregular hours, including weekends and holidays when needed.
- Ability to complete the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- At least 5 years of diesel and trailer repair experience preferred.
- High school education or equivalent.
- Certifications.
- Welding experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and inspections on Class 6–8 trucks and trailers, including brakes, diagnostics, air-conditioning systems, electrical systems, engine components, exhaust systems, after-treatment systems, lift-gates, and tires.
- Schedule and oversee maintenance procedures, including preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.
- Repair or replace vehicle and trailer components.
- Open and close repair orders using a company-issued device.
- Obtain parts from local vendors and manage inventory on the service truck.
- Complete DOT forms and other documentation accurately and on time.
