Prestige Fleet Services is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to join their team. Their mobile repair experts perform all maintenance and repairs at the customer's location and around their schedule. All technicians are D.O.T. and brake certified and capable of performing a great number of repairs and services.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on diesel and trailer repair experience.
  • Demonstrated power unit diagnostic skills — this is a must.
  • 5+ years performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Ability to work extended and/or irregular hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency using a computer or tablet for electronic work order processing, including labor entry and status updates.
  • Must supply own tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Reefer/refrigerated trailer experience — strong plus.
  • CDL, a plus.
  • ASE or manufacturer certifications.
  • Welding experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to perform all physical requirements of the role with or without reasonable accommodation — work is performed outdoors and may involve extreme heat, cold, and humidity.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and inspections on Class 6–8 power units and trailers, including engines, electrical systems, brakes, A/C systems, exhaust and after-treatment systems, lift-gates, tires, and more.
  • Execute a 50/50 mix of power unit and trailer repair work across a regional customer base.
  • Schedule and perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections in compliance with federal regulations.
  • Open and close repair orders on a company-issued device with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Source parts from local vendors and manage inventory on the service truck.
  • Complete DOT forms and all required documentation accurately and on time.
