This field-based role is ideal for skilled technicians who value independence and variety in their work. You will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers, including providing emergency roadside service when necessary. Requirements

  • At least 3 years of hands-on diesel tech experience working on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers.
  • Expertise in DOT inspections and air brake repair.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with customers and drivers.
  • Proficiency in using mobile apps, navigation systems, and digital tools for organization and repair documentation.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Independent, dependable, and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • A positive attitude and a safety-first mindset.
  • Must be 23+ years old with a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license.
  • Must possess own hand tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform onsite preventative maintenance, DOT inspections and follow up repairs on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers in a mobile field environment.
  • Handle emergency road service calls with confidence and urgency.
  • Respond to dispatch requests for scheduled and unscheduled service or maintenance.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and air systems.
  • Use advanced diagnostic tools, including handheld computers and precision instruments, to identify and fix issues.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete repairs.
  • Road test vehicles to ensure all repairs meet quality standards.
  • Maintain productivity and efficiency, meeting or exceeding industry-standard repair times.
  • Collaborate with trusted vendors to source necessary parts.
  • Take ownership of a company-issued service truck, performing maintenance and pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure safety compliance.
  • Provide support wherever needed as part of a collaborative team.
