This field-based role is perfect for skilled technicians who enjoy independence and variety in their work. You will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers, including emergency roadside service. Geared up with your own fully equipped company service truck, top-tier tools, and a supportive team, you’ll tackle new challenges every day and take pride in delivering safe, reliable, and efficient service.

Requirements

At least 3 years of hands-on diesel tech experience working on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers.
DOT inspection and air brake repair expertise.
Strong communication skills – you know how to connect and communicate with customers and drivers alike.
Comfortable using mobile apps, navigation systems and digital tools to stay organized and document repairs.
Ready for the outdoors – rain or shine at customer yards.
Independent, dependable, and self-motivated – you take pride in getting the job done right.
A positive attitude and safety-first mindset.
Must be 23+ with a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license.
Bring your own hand tools.

Responsibilities

Perform onsite preventative maintenance, DOT inspections and follow up repairs on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers in a mobile field environment.
Handle emergency road service calls with confidence and urgency.
Respond to dispatch requests for scheduled and unscheduled service or maintenance.
Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and air systems.
Use advanced diagnostic tools, including handheld computers and precision instruments, to identify and fix issues fast.
Put your expertise to work using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to get the job done right.
Road test vehicles to ensure every repair meets top-quality standards.
Stay productive and efficient, meeting or beating industry-standard repair times.
Work with trusted vendors to source parts and keep operations moving.
Take ownership of a company-issued service truck, perform maintenance and pre- and post-trip inspections, and ensuring safety compliance.
