Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, Preventative Maintenance inspections, light and follow-up repairs, and light mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics. This role involves performing more advanced diagnostics and repairs under supervision, continuing to learn advanced mechanical skills and diagnostic techniques, and complying with all company policies to achieve high performance metrics. The technician will work in a mobile/field environment, performing scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing various truck systems, inspecting defective equipment, road testing vehicles, managing parts inventory on a company-issued service truck, and maintaining the service vehicle. The technician will also interact with clients, manage concurrent tasks, use various tools and equipment, document work performed using a company-issued iOS device and proprietary TRAIT application, and complete DOT forms accurately. The role requires a high degree of independence, managing one's own daily schedule, maintaining high productivity, and obtaining parts from vendors. Communication with management for approvals and discussions on repair estimates is also necessary. All work must be performed in compliance with organizational safety, health, and environmental policies, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT).
