Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, Preventative Maintenance inspections, light and follow-up repairs, and light mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics. This role involves performing advanced diagnostics and repairs under supervision, continuously learning advanced mechanical skills and diagnostic techniques, and adhering to company policies and performance metrics. The technician will work in a mobile/field environment, performing maintenance and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing various truck systems, inspecting defective equipment, road testing vehicles, managing parts inventory, maintaining the service truck, and interacting with clients. The role requires accurate documentation using a company-issued iOS device and the TRAIT application, completing DOT forms, and working independently with a high degree of productivity. The technician will also obtain parts from vendors, communicate with management for approvals, and ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
