Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, Preventative Maintenance inspections, light and follow-up repairs, and light mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics. This role involves performing more advanced diagnostics and repairs under supervision, continuing to learn advanced mechanical skills and diagnostic techniques, and complying with all company policies to achieve high performance metrics. The technician will work in a mobile/field environment, performing maintenance and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles. This includes diagnosing and repairing various truck systems such as electrical, brake, cooling, starters, alternators, air conditioning, engine electronics, steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials. The technician will also inspect defective equipment using test instruments, road test vehicles, manage parts inventory on their service truck, and maintain the company-issued service vehicle. Effective communication with clients and customers is essential, as is managing concurrent tasks and prioritizing work. The role requires the use of various tools, including hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks. Documentation of work performed, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders using a company-issued iOS device and the TRAIT application is mandatory, along with accurate completion of DOT forms. The technician will work independently, manage their own daily schedule, maintain high productivity, and obtain parts from approved vendors. Communication with management and the support team for approvals and discussions is also part of the role. All work must be performed in compliance with organizational safety, health, and environmental policies, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT).
