Mobile CT Scan Radiology Technologist - Lung Van
About The Position
BJC HealthCare System’s Barnes Jewish Hospital is seeking a Full-Time Mobile CT Advanced Modality Radiology Technologist to support our Lung Van operations based at the Center for Advanced Medicine (CAM). This role is part of the first Lung Van program in Missouri. The position will start with on-road/mobile scanning 2-3 days per week, with the remaining days spent scanning outpatients at the Center for Advanced Medicine (CAM). The role is designed to evolve into 4 days per week of mobile Lung Van travel. The Lung Van involves local travel with a provided driver to outreach sites in surrounding Missouri, with drives of 2-4 hours to scan patients’ lungs. A 5% differential is offered on top of the base rate for CT certification. Relocation Bonus eligibility is also available.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree or Trade School equivalency (or higher level of education)
- Certification as a Registered Technologist in Radiography - R.T.(R) and/or CT
- Strong ability to work independently and troubleshoot
- Excellent patient communication and bedside manner for diverse rural populations
- Comfortable with travel and mobile imaging logistics
Nice To Haves
- CT experience preferred (1+ year)
- CT certification (highly preferred)
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- Intravenous Therapy
Responsibilities
- Performs diagnostic imaging procedures in at least one advanced imaging modality (defined as Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Interventional, Mammography, Bone Density, Cardiac Catheterization) on adults and/or pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment, and quality control.
- Prepares patient and equipment for procedures.
- Performs studies independently, in on-call situations, portable exams, and other sites as required by work area.
- Must be able to work independently & troubleshoot CT equipment on the Lung Van.
