About The Position

The Clinical Manager manages the day-to-day operations of the Jefferson Parish Mobile Crisis Team (JP MCS) for Choices Coordinated Care Solutions. The incumbent will provide ongoing consultation to JP MCS and will ensure a strong clinical presence onsite and in the community. The Clinical Manager represents and advocates for the staff and consumers with the community, funding bodies, policy makers, and the broader public, and coordinate services with community entities. The Choices Jefferson Parish Mobile Crisis Team are responsible for 24/7 mobile emergency responses for youth and adults experiencing a behavioral health crisis in Jefferson Parish. The MCS team operates from a strengths-based perspective, collaborating with first responders, community stakeholders, clinical leadership, and fellow mobile crisis responders. The MCS team will work within a culture of crisis prevention, making every effort to ensure individuals are effectively stabilized within their home and community whenever possible. The MCS team will ensure appropriate follow-up for individuals who have experienced a crisis event and ensure linkage to ongoing supports and services, operating in an enhanced localized crisis response system contributing to the goal of increased community stabilization.

Requirements

  • Minimum of master’s degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or related human services field.
  • Current licensure by the state(s) in which work is assigned as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor.
  • Minimum of five years of clinical and managerial experience in community-based behavioral health and human services with children/families.
  • Significant supervisory experience that promotes leadership and initiative in line staff, successful team building, consensus building, conflict resolution, staff development, and advocacy.
  • Demonstrated competence in providing to and creating services for culturally diverse populations.
  • Expertise in strength-based programming, crisis intervention, family systems theory, multi-systems care coordination, and case management.
  • Demonstrated skill in fiscal management activities, team building, and development.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license in the state of residence, auto insurance and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Implements the clinical vision for Choices.
  • Works with Choices’ executive management team and the Executive Director of the local site to ensure that Choices is in compliance with current contract requirements.
  • Directs the hiring, training, and retention of staff at the assigned site.
  • Works with key Choices leadership personnel to establish strategic plan and quality improvement processes approved by Choices.
  • Uses data from the electronic health record and other sources to guide decision-making for supervision of care coordinators and care coordination teams.
  • Maintains positive working relationships with co-workers.
  • Willingly completes other duties as assigned to advance the mission of Choices.
  • Provides appropriate clinical supervision and oversight to staff to promote the safety and well- being of individuals, families, and well-being of individuals, families, and staff.
  • Works with Lead Clinical Evaluator to effectively address employment issues identified for staff.
  • Provides effective supervision to assigned supervisors and addresses identified performance issues in a timely, consistent, and fair manner.
  • Uses strengths-based supervision so each person supervised comes to know his/her own strengths and weaknesses and uses strengths in day-to-day work.
  • Ensures that each employee supervised has opportunities for personal and professional growth.
  • Completes annual performance evaluations and quarterly goal setting check-ins with supervisors at assigned site and reviews evaluations completed by supervisors before submission to HR.
  • Provides clear expectations for each supervised staff.
