About The Position

We have openings for Mobile Crane Technicians in San Marcos, CA, Hampton, NJ, Williston, ND, Midland/Odessa, TX, Houston, TX, and St. Louis, MO. This position will inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform maintenance on various crane equipment including mobile cranes (All Terrain, Rough Terrain, Crawler Cranes, Boom Trucks, knuckle booms, bucket trucks, etc.). Mechanical experience required with electrical and hydraulics. Candidates will be required to take a skill assessment as part of the interview/hiring process. Field technicians work 40-80 hours/week depending on customer needs, while shop technicians work 40-50 hours/week. Travel is required periodically for 1 to 4-day intervals for field techs. A valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record are required for field technician positions, with a CDL being preferred.

Requirements

  • A minimum 2 years of experience as a Mobile Crane Mechanic/Technician.
  • Mechanical experience with electrical and hydraulics.
  • Working knowledge of CANBUS, PAT, EKS, ECOS, LICCON, and Greer systems.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record required for field technician positions.

Nice To Haves

  • CDL preferred.
  • History of working with different forms of mobile crane equipment, specifically: Grove RT and TMS Cranes, Grove GMK European Cranes, Manitowoc, Liebherr, Terex, Palfinger, IMT, Cormach, National, Demag, Manitex, and similar equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform maintenance on various crane equipment including mobile cranes (All Terrain, Rough Terrain, Crawler Cranes, Boom Trucks, knuckle booms, bucket trucks, etc.).
  • Help grow the business by identifying new opportunities and contributing to the development of customer relationships and market presence.
  • Operate and inspect cranes in order to diagnose defects.
  • Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges.
  • Read and understand operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Test mechanical, electronic, electrical, and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper operation and compliance with OEM specifications.
  • Prepare for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness.
  • Accomplish tasks independently without direct supervision.
  • Maintain conformity to safety requirements, manufacturer procedures, and other regulations.
  • Properly fill out working reports, hour’s reports, time sheets, work orders, and other company and customer paperwork in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Complete expense reports in a timely manner as dictated by company policy.
