About The Position

We're hiring Mobile Crane Mechanics/Technicians in New York City, with additional openings across New Jersey and other NY/NJ area locations. Sign-on bonus available at select locations, and relocation assistance offered for the right candidate. If you have hands-on experience with mobile cranes, we want to talk to you. This position will inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform maintenance on various crane equipment, including mobile cranes (All Terrain, Rough Terrain, Crawler Cranes, Boom Trucks, knuckle booms, bucket trucks, etc.). Mechanical experience required with electrical and hydraulics. It is part of this role’s responsibility to help grow the business by identifying new opportunities and contributing to the development of customer relationships and market presence. Candidates will be required to take a skill assessment as part of the interview/hiring process.

Requirements

  • A minimum 2 years of experience as a Mobile Crane Mechanic/Technician that can operate and inspect cranes in order to diagnose defects.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of CANBUS, PAT, EKS, ECOS, LICCON, and Greer systems.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record required for field technician positions.

Nice To Haves

  • CDL preferred.
  • History of working with different forms of mobile crane equipment, specifically: Grove RT and TMS Cranes, Grove GMK European Cranes, Manitowoc, Liebherr, Terex, Palfinger, IMT, Cormach, National, Demag, Manitex, and similar equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform maintenance on various crane equipment, including mobile cranes (All Terrain, Rough Terrain, Crawler Cranes, Boom Trucks, knuckle booms, bucket trucks, etc.).
  • Mechanical experience required with electrical and hydraulics.
  • Help grow the business by identifying new opportunities and contributing to the development of customer relationships and market presence.
  • Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges.
  • Read and understand operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Test mechanical, electronic, electrical, and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper operation and compliance with OEM specifications.
  • Prepare for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain conformity to safety requirements, manufacturer procedures, and other regulations.
  • Properly fill out working reports, hour’s reports, time sheets, work orders, and other company and customer paperwork in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Complete expense reports in a timely manner as dictated by company policy.
