About The Position

The Mobile Building Engineer is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing building systems across multiple facilities within an assigned territory. This role performs preventative maintenance and responds to service requests involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and building automation systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable building operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of commercial building maintenance or engineering experience.
  • Experience working with multiple building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and controls.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile work-order applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school or vocational training in HVAC, electrical, or mechanical systems preferred.
  • Experience servicing multiple sites or mobile engineering roles preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Travel between assigned properties to perform routine inspections and maintenance.
  • Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC equipment, including air handlers, chillers, package units, and related systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety systems.
  • Respond promptly to service requests and emergency maintenance situations.
  • Inspect buildings for operational deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and work orders.
  • Assist with vendor coordination and oversight of contracted services.
  • Perform minor carpentry, painting, and general building repairs as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety programs, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support energy management initiatives and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to after-hours emergencies when required.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and replacement parts.
