About The Position

VTG is seeking an experienced applications developer to join their team. The role requires minimal ramp-up time and necessitates expertise in mobile app development, particularly with Android. The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in geospatial technology and mobile applications. Responsibilities include supporting technical meetings, providing technical advice on mobile hardware, operating systems (Android/iOS), software, and security mechanisms. The role involves integrating geospatial mission data into a common enterprise web application using Amazon EC2, S3, and related services, and developing mobile applications for both Android and iOS platforms.

Requirements

Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with Poly on day one of employment.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Demonstrated experience with strong knowledge of Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) applications and services.
Demonstrated ability to develop Android/iOS mobile applications using React including proficiency with Visual Studio Code, Android Studio, Xcode, Nodejs, and Javascript.
Demonstrated experience working with Windows, UNIX, and Linux platforms.
Demonstrated experience in software engineering and development.

Responsibilities

Serve as a geospatial technology and mobile SME.
Support technical meetings with vendors to communicate program and mission requirements.
Provide technical advice and direction based on practical knowledge of mobile phone hardware, mobile operating systems (Android/iOS), software (commercial, FOSS, and GOTS), and security mechanisms.
Interact with the Sponsor’s Enterprise teams to integrate Sponsor’s geospatial mission data within a common, enterprise web application.
Perform system administration, database administration, file, and access management functions using Amazon EC2, S3, and related services.
Develop mobile applications proficient with both Android and iOS app development.
Develop Windows and Linux application releases using the Electron framework.
Work with small teams to manage software development activities.
Work with customers to define functional requirements, concept of operations, and UI/UX design.
Manage iterative software development releases.
Track development sprints using JIRA.
Manage source code in Github and Gitlab.
Develop test plans.
Provide technical support and training to a broad client base.
Support technical operations.
