About The Position

Are you looking for a career as a registered MLT? Join our team at St. Louis Children's Hospital to make a direct impact on patient care and operations. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with every 5th weekend rotation (7am-1pm). The day shift has a rotating schedule with hours of 6am-2:30pm, 7am-3:30pm, or 9:30am-6pm. This position is eligible for Perks Benefits and is located at St. Louis Children's Hospital, though the employee may float to other lab locations. The minimum requirement is an Associate's degree in a physical, life science, or related field, and ASCP or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Reports and maintains record of patient test results through the laboratory computer system accurately, meeting published turn around times for routine testing and stats.
• Documents patient test management problems/concerns on quality documents and initiates corrective action.
• Performs quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary. Monitors quality control performance and corrects any problems and or reports any problems to the appropriate department.
• Operates all instrumentation in assigned areas to deliver precise, timely, and accurate laboratory results. Performs laboratory procedures for specimen collection, processing, test analysis.
• Trains new personnel in methods, procedures and use of equipment and instruments specific to the assigned area.
