About The Position

Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO) is seeking an MLS/MLT I for their Oklahoma City, OK location. This full-time position works 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, from 1400-2230, with rotating weekends and holidays. The role involves performing routine testing in various laboratory departments, assisting with specimen processing, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting. Additional duties include assisting supervisors with special projects and monitoring inventory. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Requirements

• Good understanding of laboratory procedures.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems, to identify cause and synthesize alternatives.
• Clear and effective communication.
• Ability to react positively with coworkers.
• Ability to use independent judgement to solve problems.
• Able to manage time, prioritize, and delegate.
• BS in chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science/medical laboratory technology.
• Previously qualified as a technologist under 42 CFR 493.1489.
• ASCP or equivalent exam eligible within 1-3 years.
• Keyboard skills are important.
• Good customer service skills, professional appearance and attitude are required.

Nice To Haves

• Good computer skills a plus.
• Knowledge in Epic and MediaLab is a plus.
• MLT/MLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine testing in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, serology, coagulation, molecular, and blood bank.
• Assist with specimen processing as needed.
• Follow employer and hospital policies.
• Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Perform duties in the clinical laboratory.
• Assist supervisor/manager with special projects/assignments.
• Supervise an instrument or department.
• Help monitor inventory for their designated area.
