About The Position

This full-time faculty position is located at the UNMC College of Allied Health Professions in Kearney, Nebraska. 1. Develop, coordinate, instruct, and evaluate curriculum as assigned for campus, distance, and degree advancement option students enrolled in the Medical Laboratory Science Program, and pre-professional and other health profession students. 2. Contribute to the teaching of students using various instructional methods to meet the needs of campus and distance education students based on professional specialties. 3. Educate students on both the Omaha and Kearney campuses for all content areas taught during the program’s summer student laboratory phase. 4. Coordinate activities related to clinical experience for MLS students assigned to regional clinical affiliate sites. This includes curricular support, evaluation, and monitoring of student performance. Travel to clinical sites is required. 5. Facilitate MLS student experiences by providing support to clinical site liaisons and instructors at regional clinical affiliate sites, including incorporation of educational and clinical practices. 6. Provide leadership in student professional development and interprofessional education programs. 7. Engage in independent and collaborative scholarly activities for presentation, publication, and external funding. 8. Participate in student recruitment, advising, and mentoring. 9. Participate in the accreditation process. 10. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science or a related field
  • Earned MLS certification
  • One year clinical laboratory experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and work as part of a collaborative team
