About The Position

The Gameday Compliance Monitor (GCM) is responsible for ensuring that all Club Personnel adhere to gameday requirements outlined in the Basic Agreement, Major League Rules, Major League Baseball Regulations, and directives from the Commissioner’s Office. GCMs are assigned to each regular season and Postseason game to monitor and report Club compliance with these requirements. They also provide support to the enforcement program for sign stealing and the use of electronic devices. The GCM observes and reports any issues or potential violations in a timely manner to enable appropriate follow-up and enforcement by the Commissioner’s Office. This is a part-time, seasonal position, with assignments based on a market's at-home schedule, requiring regular onsite attendance at the ballpark. Major League Baseball does not provide relocation assistance, and individuals are responsible for their own transportation.

Requirements

• Regular availability to attend games in-person as required by the schedule, including weekdays, nights, weekends and holidays
• Strong knowledge of baseball and MLB rules
• Professionalism in a Clubhouse atmosphere and ability to take responsibilities seriously and without bias
• Ability to work in live, fast-paced and high-pressure situations
• Ability to effectively communicate to Major League Baseball personnel

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with video/replay hardware and software is preferred

Responsibilities

• Arrive at the ballpark no later than three hours prior to the scheduled start time
• Monitor the storage and handling of baseballs
• Monitor compliant use of equipment
• Provide additional on-site support to the enforcement of the sign stealing and use of electronic device regulations
• Other game-day responsibilities during the regular season and postseason as determined by the Commissioner’s Office
• Routine day-to-day correspondence via email, Slack, voice call and/or text message, to keep current with coverage schedules and other scheduled assignments
• Other game-day responsibilities during Spring Training, the regular season and/or Postseason as determined by Data Operations supervisor(s)
