About The Position

Refuel.ai is building the next wave of ML applications, focusing on areas like video security, conversational AI, and autonomous vehicles. These applications deal with large streams of unstructured data (images, video, text, audio), high labeling costs, and broken feedback loops. Refuel.ai aims to accelerate the time to production for ML applications built on unstructured data and enable continuous improvement in real-world scenarios. The company was founded in 2021 by Rishabh Bhargava and Nihit Desai, who bring extensive ML and product experience from leading tech companies and institutions. Refuel.ai is backed by prominent investors like General Catalyst and XYZ Ventures.

Requirements

Experience building ML applications for unstructured data (image, video, text, audio streams), including data collection, model development, and deployment.
Familiarity with Python programming language.
Strong communication skills.
Enjoy working in a collaborative environment.
Curiosity about the early startup and company building journey.

Nice To Haves

Hands-on experience with at least one of the popular deep learning frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow.
Experience working with Machine learning stack in AWS.
Published research in machine learning or related fields at conferences/journals.

Responsibilities

Develop core machine learning algorithms for representation learning, clustering, outlier detection in high dimensional spaces, improving label quality, and active learning.
Stay updated with state-of-the-art research in machine learning for content understanding.
Apply state-of-the-art deep learning models (internal and external) to solve customer problems.
Collaborate with engineering and design teams on feature and scalability improvements.
Contribute to defining and evolving the engineering stack.
Assist in hiring and mentoring new team members.
