About The Position

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Leads the work process in the Mixing area. Reads and interprets the daily schedule and prepares a plan to set up workstations with all necessary resin mixes to start up and maintain efficient, continuous production. Organizes and makes necessary adjustments to the resin mixes according to presses or outside areas to meet the desired schedule. Maintains consistent communication with Wet Process Area Lead and adjusts to production schedule changes. Communicates with forklift operators, warehouse personnel, and material handlers to ensure the timely delivery of all necessary supplies and that the required tools, equipment, and supplies needed to perform job duties are at their workstations. Marks all barrels and prints all necessary information on drum tags and liners, identifying resin mix types. Mixes pigments to make resin colors as a backup to the process tech. Keeps work area clean with daily housekeeping duties. Monitors and ensures that all employees are working safely and in compliance with all safety regulations. Maintains reliable and consistent attendance, including being punctual, dependable, and flexible to potential schedule changes to meet the needs of the department and the organization. Executes each essential duty satisfactorily to perform the job successfully. Follows all safety procedures required in the work area, wears PPE as needed, attends all safety meetings, and reports safety issues regarding equipment or unsafe/hazardous conditions. Performs effectively as a team member, able to work well with others, open to receiving and giving feedback, and treats everyone with respect. Takes ownership of own work and behavior, accepts accountability for own actions, encourages solutions, and communicates status of work/projects. Follows all department quality standards/criteria. Raises concerns and issues with management. Understands department’s key performance indicators (KPIs) and contributes to achieving these goals both individually and as a team. Other duties, as needed, required or assigned. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Must be able to work overtime as needed, remain flexible and open to possible schedule changes in order to meet business needs. Plans, prepares, and monitors all resin-mixing activities for tray production in the compression department. Reviews the schedule daily, coordinates with the Wet Process Area Lead, and formulates a plan to complete the needed resin mixes in the required time. This position is primarily responsible for making resin for production presses; premixing resin and filler in the batch mixers, monitoring resin to the remaining production balance using the finish reference schedule, ordering needed materials using AS400, and reporting all safety and quality issues of the resin, pigments, and materials used, and the general compression department work areas. This position will report to the Shift Manager and may act as the backup to other areas within the department (press operator, inspection, etc.) in their absence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to adapt and adjust plans to meet changing needs.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Must remain flexible and open to possible schedule changes in order to meet business needs.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.
  • Applicants must already have full-time work authorization in the United States without requiring sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Working knowledge of AS400 systems.
