About The Position

Rolling Mix Concrete is seeking a responsible, dependable, safe, and capable Ready-Mix Concrete Truck Driver for their West End Plant. This role involves delivering ready-mix concrete and associated products to various job sites and residential areas. The position may require extensive overtime depending on business and weather conditions. Requirements

  • Valid class 3 or class 1 driver's license with air brake endorsement.
  • Clean driving record, evidenced by a clean abstract.
  • Ability to work long hours, overtime, and weekends.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs unassisted on a regular basis.
  • Safety conscious.
  • Punctual/Reliable.
  • High attention to detail.

  • 1-2 years of prior Concrete Truck Driving Experience

Responsibilities

  • Inspect the truck, including checking fluids like oil and antifreeze, before starting the day, following pre-trip inspection reports.
  • Fill the truck with water and prepare the drum for concrete.
  • Receive delivery tickets.
  • Add fibers or other products as directed.
  • Check the slump and mix of the concrete.
  • Drive the truck safely to job sites, ensuring the desired slump is achieved upon arrival.
  • Maneuver the truck into position on job sites, including backing up or pulling in, and handling uneven or poor terrain.
  • Place chutes from the fender to the rear of the truck.
  • Unload concrete in a courteous manner.
  • Obtain signed tickets and ensure all necessary job site information is collected.
  • Wash the truck using hoses and brushes in designated areas as per contractor requirements.
  • Communicate with the dispatcher via radio when returning to the plant.
  • Add various ingredients to the load, such as fibers, cement, and admixtures.
  • Complete all paperwork, including notes on times, job issues, and water added.
  • Refuel the truck each evening and perform a post-inspection walk-around.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
  • Occasionally use a chipper to clean concrete buildup in the drum.
  • Maintain the exterior and interior of the truck in a clean condition.
