About The Position

The Mixer Operator works with other Operating Technicians in the total operation of the mixing, extruding, and packaging equipment in the entire facility. The Operating Technician operates equipment in the production and packaging process from the dryer bin conveyors through the palletizers. The Operating Technician keeps equipment sufficiently supplied with production components and materials, maintains the cleanliness of the line, relieves other Operating Techs, operates the line safely, and in conjunction with other Operating Techs, operates the line within established quality and productivity standards.

Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with peers, supervisors, and maintenance personnel. The ability to read, understand and follow verbal and written operating instructions.
  • Ability to learn/perform basic data entry into process control computers.
  • Ability to work overtime, including weekends and holidays as required
  • Ability to read and write
  • Physical capability of moderate to heavy lifting, climbing stairs and ladders, working on platforms, handling flexible hoses
  • Ability to perform the basic math functions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Ability to operate/learn to operate all material handling equipment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to learn/perform basic data entry into process control computers

Responsibilities

  • Follow general housekeeping procedures.
  • Run daily lab samples for in-process tests and tank certification.
  • Align, adjust, and calibrate equipment based on lab results and centerline targets.
  • Operates Mixers and Amalgamators using functionality and controls of the TDC system.
  • Monitor key process equipment for functionality including, dye and perfume systems, pumps, valves, transfer piping, etc.
  • Observe and report equipment issues in your area.
  • Prepare all Dyes and Slurries.
  • Communicate any impact on other departments including Planning and Packing.
  • Conduct all in-process quality/analytical testing.
  • Troubleshoot processing, equipment and quality problems to maximize uptime and meet the production plans.
  • Confirm all connections, piping and destinations are accurate and all material transfers are to the proper destination.
  • Complete shift cleaning in work areas.
  • Responsible for general maintenance items to maintain equipment reliability.
