About The Position

This position is responsible for the mixing of ingredients to make the compound for producing PVC pipe. The Mixer Operator will operate and monitor an automated blending system, load ingredients into hoppers, and operate resin-unloading equipment to transfer resin from tanker to silo storage. This role is also responsible for the accuracy of all line paperwork/reports for their work shift, documentation of material usage and batch counts, and performing a final check of resin tankers to ensure they are empty before signing off for departure. Additionally, the position involves transporting, loading, and unloading skids of chemicals and other production materials, performing basic maintenance such as changing filters and hoses, cleaning equipment, and monitoring outside silo capacity levels. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups (employees or customers).
  • Have ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Have ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.
  • Maintain their designated work spaces in a clean, safe and timely manner in compliance with the plants THM/Safety policy.
  • Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel and able to talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to stand and walk.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities
