Communitas is a church planting organization with 50 years of experience in Western Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, Latin America, and North America. We are seeking a leader to help advance our Kingdom ministry. Our mission family of over 200 includes full-time, bi-vocational employees, and affiliates, with many non-Americans. Communitas operates in over 20 countries, starting new initiatives and nurturing churches and church-planting projects. We are rooted in missional theology, with core values centered on being Kingdom seeking, Grace oriented, and People focused. Our church planting methodology is adaptable to unique contexts, emphasizing service and progression towards healthy, maturing churches. We are pioneers and risk-takers who value honesty, encouragement, and collaboration. This pastoral role provides leadership, coaching, and mentorship to a team of missionaries while also serving as a lead church planter/missionary. The role is responsible for establishing and cultivating a missionally focused community of faith, guiding its growth from initial launch through long-term sustainability. The planting pastor will utilize the proven methodology of the Communitas network of churches—embedding, initiating, practicing, maturing, hubbing, and extending—to shape the church’s formation, rhythms, and community life. This framework provides a foundation for healthy church development while allowing flexibility to adapt to the unique cultural context, needs, and opportunities of the local community. The specific scope of responsibilities will vary according to the location, stage of church development, and ministry needs of the area served. The role requires both strategic leadership and contextual adaptability to foster a thriving, multiplying community of faith.
