About The Position

As a Mission Planning Systems Tech, you will have the opportunity to provide expert test and evaluation (T&E) support for various Advanced Sensor Technologies Program Office (AST PO) mission planning systems and C4I systems associated with the Advanced Airborne Sensor (AAS). This includes systems such as TacMobile, TMAAS, Minotaur, DDMC, Common Data Link (CDL), Link-16, TARDIS, and TFAS. You will serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for these systems, supporting all phases of ground and flight testing. Your responsibilities will encompass documentation, security and Information Assurance (IA) coordination, execution, asset scheduling, media tracking and configuration management, data dissemination, analysis, metrics development, verification, and reporting. You will develop accurate and repeatable procedures and processes for mission planning systems to meet T&E objectives and maximize asset availability. Collaboration with program staff, supporting organizations, and system-development contractors is key to resolving issues efficiently. You will also coordinate test support activities with other DoD and Navy organizations, and deploy mission planning systems to remote detachment sites, requiring travel up to 15%. Ensuring systems maintain their Authority To Operate (ATO) and meet security guidelines, supporting compliance inspections, and tracking media with configuration management practices are crucial. You will coordinate the dissemination of post-flight data and perform test and evaluation of mission planning systems, analyzing results, assessing compliance, and presenting findings in briefs and reports. Additionally, you will assist in the development of concepts and long-range planning for future mission planning systems.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Active TOP SECRET Clearance.
  • BS/BA desired and minimum of seven (7) years of test engineering and/or systems engineering experience.
  • Experience in at least one of the following areas: NAVAIRINST 3960 test planning and evaluation, or software and hardware operations test and evaluation.
  • Ability to work 100% on-site.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is desired.
  • Must have completed a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) within the past six (6) years or currently enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation (CE) Program.
  • Must have CompTIA Security+ certification in order to meet DoD 8570 compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with integrated test teams that are comprised of military, civilian, and contractor personnel.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Experienced using Unix/Linux environments.
  • Working knowledge of computer networking concepts and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert test and evaluation (T&E) support for various Advanced Sensor Technologies Program Office (AST PO) mission planning systems and C4I systems associated with the Advanced Airborne Sensor (AAS) including, but not limited to, TacMobile, TMAAS, Minotaur, DDMC, Common Data Link (CDL), Link-16, TARDIS, and TFAS.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for the given systems supporting all phases of ground and flight testing including documentation, security and Information Assurance (IA) coordination, execution, asset scheduling, media tracking and configuration management, data dissemination, analysis, metrics development, verification, and reporting tasks.
  • Develop documentation including procedures and processes for mission planning systems that are accurate, repeatable and thoroughly meet T&E objectives and maximize asset availability.
  • Collaborate with program staff, supporting organizations and system-development contractors to efficiently resolve any issues.
  • Coordinate test support activities with other DoD and Navy organizations as they relate to mission planning systems.
  • Coordinate and deploy mission planning systems to remote detachment sites in support of test activities. Travel and provide on-site support. Travel may be up 15%.
  • Coordinate with AST PO and Navy security and information assurance (IA) teams to ensure all mission planning systems maintain their Authority To Operate (ATO) and meet all security and IA guidelines. Support compliance inspections and datacalls.
  • Effectively track all media associated with mission planning systems with thorough configuration management practices.
  • Coordinate dissemination of post-flight data from mission planning systems to internal and external data customers.
  • Perform test and evaluation of mission planning systems with test planning and test execution. Perform evaluation of test data by analyzing results, assessing compliance with system specifications, operational requirements and accurately presenting the analysis and status in briefs and test reports.
  • Assist government in development of concepts and in long-range planning for integration and test of future mission planning systems.
