About The Position

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor that supports national priority programs through strategic solutions in Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training. The Mission Systems Operator will be responsible for running and validating advanced software systems that support large-scale, high-performance computing and supercomputing environments. This role involves hands-on work with specialized applications, executing real missions, identifying software deficiencies, and coordinating with software developers and government stakeholders to drive improvements. The operator will serve as the operational voice during software development reviews, providing practical insight into system behavior during mission execution. Collaboration with external partner programs for data collection and analysis, and participation in onsite technical discussions with limited travel, are also key aspects of the position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Five years of Systems Engineering experience.
  • Ten years of experience collaborating with government agencies and/or DoD services.
  • Must have a current and active TS/SCI clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a suite of software applications serving large-scale, high-performance computing, supercomputing and parallel processing platforms in an R&D setting.
  • Conduct software testing across multiple platforms and provide results to Government representatives for review and adjudication.
  • Provide reporting on software deficiencies and support corrective action development efforts.
  • Participate in software development reviews as a Mission Operator representative.
  • Provide onsite, and offsite when applicable, support during test events and demonstration exercises; requires travel approximately 4 weeks a year.
  • Coordinate with external partner programs for data collection efforts and analysis.
  • Support system requirements development and verification efforts.
  • Support System of System reviews and architecture development efforts.
