About The Position

This role focuses on learning and leading effective Young Life ministry through training and direct field experience. The position involves spiritual development, leadership development, resource development, direct ministry, and ministry support. A key aspect of this role is adhering to Young Life's Statement of Faith and Christian purposes, which includes professing belief in Jesus Christ and aligning conduct with biblical standards. The Mission Staff will engage in various ministry functions, including leading teams and individuals in spiritual development, equipping leaders, recruiting and training volunteers, and casting vision. Resource development involves raising financial support, donor care, and networking with key adults in the community. Direct ministry includes contact work, leading Young Life clubs and Campaigners, and implementing camping strategies. Ministry support requires adherence to Young Life policies, financial stewardship, accurate record-keeping, and professional communication. A yearly strategic ministry plan is also a component of this role.

Requirements

Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Must profess a belief in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord.
Must subscribe to the statements and policies required of all Young Life staff, including the Young Life Statement of Faith.
Must be ready, willing, and able to fulfill ministry functions.
Must refrain from conduct and statements that detract from biblical standards.
Must abide by all policies and practices of Young Life.

Responsibilities

Lead and participate in effective Young Life ministry.
Develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life.
Seek and maintain relationships and disciplines within a church community.
Actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.
Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.
Meet with volunteer leaders and area leadership on a regular basis.
Recruit and train new leaders to build a leadership team.
Model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners, and camping.
Assist in training leaders, team leaders, and committee members.
Raise financial support and maintain good donor care practices.
Communicate ministry updates and progress to personal donor partners.
Network and develop strategic relationships with key adults in the community.
Assist with camp fundraisers.
Actively engage in all three levels of contact work.
Lead a team to plan and conduct a Young Life club and Campaigners/discipleship ministry.
Lead a team to implement a summer and school-season camping strategy.
Serve on a summer assignment at a Young Life camp each year.
Adhere to all Young Life policies and procedures.
Manage finances with stewardship, accountability, and transparency.
Maintain accurate information on kids, leaders, and donors.
Provide clear, prompt, appropriate, and professional communication.
Set yearly strategic ministry plans and initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
