Mission Specialist II - New Glenn

About The Position

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable. As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will support integration of current and future New Glenn customers by supporting new business opportunity analysis, customer tours and engagements, and facilitating cross-functional proposal development. You will support organizational efforts enhance operational efficiency, streamline processes, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, customer focus, and commitment to quality to positively impact our relationship with customers and enable integration and launch of their payloads. Requirements

  • B.S. in engineering or technical field, or related field with relevant experience
  • Experience developing customer proposals and/or contract execution
  • 3+ years managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects
  • 1+ years of experience in launch system or satellite operations
  • Ability to travel within U.S. and abroad
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers and across internal functions to facilitate meetings/readiness reviews at various Blue Origin sites (coordinate content with POCs, visitor badges, catering, escorts, etc.)
  • Lead both internal and external technical projects from proposal through completion
  • Support responses to business development opportunities and onboarding of new customers
  • Participate in proposal and contract development
  • Integrate customer requirements into New Glenn development and launch services
