About The Position

Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the French Quarter Clean Team Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising the day-to-day activities of the team. This unique program brings our Goodwill@Work team members into the community to help beautify the French Quarter area of the city.

Requirements

A valid Class 5, non-GDL, driver’s license and be able to provide a clean driver’s abstract.
Must pass a criminal record check including a vulnerable sector check.
Must be eligible to work in Canada.
Must be able to regularly lift up to 12 Kilograms (25 Pounds) and perform physical work, including walking, on a continual basis.
Minimum one (1) years related supervisory experience, supervising personnel and directing work flow.

Experience working with individuals with disabilities is an asset.
Related post-secondary education, this includes but is not limited to social work, business administration, education, trades. Equivalent experience will be considered.
First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.

Able to comfortably communicate with team members and members of the public about Goodwill and its mission.

Responsibilities

Supervising and supporting a team responsible for cleaning sidewalks and common areas within the French Quarter.
Overseeing daily cleanup activities, including picking up garbage and disposing of waste appropriately to ensure clean and safe public spaces.
Training, guiding, and supervising team members to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to required standards.
Ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times, including proper handling of materials and awareness of surroundings.
Identifying and reporting hazards to the City of Edmonton 311 call center (e.g. needles, overflowing garbage cans, etc.).
Safely transporting team members to cleanup locations once a week using a company vehicle.
Engaging with local businesses to offer free window washing services to build and maintain positive community relationships.
Working outdoors for extended periods, including significant walking and physical activity.
Preparing for and working in varying weather conditions and ensuring appropriate attire and readiness.
Supporting and engaging respectfully with team members to fostering an inclusive, supportive work environment.
