About The Position

Blue Canyon Technologies, RTX's small satellite manufacturer and mission services provider, is solving some of the toughest challenges in space. Blue Canyon Technologies is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Mission Operation Engineering Intern to join our BCT Summer in Space Internship program. Applicants must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university. In addition, applicants must be enrolled fall semester 2027. This will be a full-time position for the summer for 11 weeks, starting May 25 2027.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree from a four-year university. Must be working towards a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
  • At start of internship, must have completed greater than or equal to two years of previous college coursework
  • Strong ability to work in teams and collaborate with peers and internal customers
  • Strong analytical skills – comfortable working with quantitative and qualitative data
  • Ability to learn new processes quickly and effectively multi-task
  • Effective communication skills; comfortable working in a team environment; high energy and desire to learn.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience through school or extracurricular projects

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to mission operations concept and flight product development
  • Create mission operations documentation, procedures, command scripts and timelines
  • Support integrated system level testing of flight and ground segments
  • Support the creation of training documentation
  • Perform and/or assist with real-time spacecraft/payload command and control during launch and early orbit
  • Perform trending and analysis of spacecraft/payload performance and assist with anomaly investigations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
