About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Mission Management Planner (MMP) to support a new Space Systems Command (SSC) program aligned to the Epoch 2 Ground Management and Integration effort. The MMP will coordinate the activities of the on-shift Peraton Team as well as subcontractor personnel. This position is initially a day staff position that will transition to shift work later in the program. During the initial phase of this position the MMP, will support program standup, transition the program from the legacy contract, and develop program specific procedures that align with Peraton processes and tools to meet Customer objectives. As part of a 24x7 crew member, the MMP will support on-call requirements and potential surge support as the government requires. This position will be responsible for the following: Leads a team of direct reports to complete operational requirements based on the Government provided CONOPS and or approved procedures. Manage shift requirements and allocate tasking for spacecraft engineers. Perform daily monitoring and trending of MWT MEO ground segment state-of-health data. While on shift operate the Constellation Mission Management (CMM) software component. Monitor MTC/JOPC ChatSurfer chat room while on shift. Coordinate with JOPC planners (as required) while on shift. Coordinate shift change inputs for Team Peraton to provide to the government Mission Director (MD). Follow the directions of the government MD to support operational activities. Develop, maintain, and validate nominal and off-nominal procedures for performing ground segment activities. Support space operations through coordinating ground segments operations and monitor for potential off-nominal indicators. Responsible for the technical integrity of projects and operations while providing technical guidance to department staff and project levels. Work closely with resources to create test plans and ensure that issues are properly assigned and resolved. Provide accurate, articulate, quick turnaround notifications and status updates for anomalies. Analyze and identify spacecraft system anomaly root causes. Coordinate team planning and execution of recovery actions. Assist in developing and maintaining checklists and training material for ground segment engineers. Conduct team meetings as necessary to plan for upcoming activities, discuss ongoing issues, and facilitate team cohesiveness. This position is contingent on contract award.

Requirements

  • 6 years of experience, may have lead experience
  • Active/Current TS/SCI
  • Prior experience working with space vehicle operations, space operational environment, and or ground segment operations
  • Experience leading projects and/or teams to complete time critical tasks
  • Occasional travel to other sites may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or related field.
  • Previous experience associated with Resilient MWT and / or MW/MD OPIR operations is highly desired.
  • Previous experience with OS/COMET is desired
  • Proficiency with Systems Tool Kit (STK), Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW.
  • Previous spacecraft operations, design, or test experience.
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively with peers and management.
