About The Position

The Mission Integration Program Manager will lead and oversee the development, implementation, and organizational embedding of employee-centered support programs that align with the mission of Goodwill Industries of the Greater Chattanooga Area (GIGCA). This role is dedicated to fostering the personal and professional growth of all GIGCA employees—across departments, roles, and locations—by coordinating life coaching, resource access, credential preparation, and career pathway development. Reporting to the Vice President of Mission Services, this position supervises Mission Integration Specialists and serves as a strategic community resource manager, building the systems and relationships that help employees pursue personal stability, advancement, or transitions aligned with the “Stay, Grow, or Go” framework. The Mission Integration Program Manager ensures that support services are inclusive of and accessible to all employees—from retail and operations to administrative and programmatic teams.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of experience in program development, workforce development, case management, or social services, preferably within a nonprofit or community-based organization.
  • Strong understanding of supportive services, case management principles, holistic wellness approaches, and workforce readiness strategies.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals facing barriers to employment, education, or economic stability.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, partners, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management abilities, including supervising staff, managing projects, and meeting performance goals.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in social services, workforce development, case management, and HIPAA compliance.
  • Must have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Valid driver’s license and car insurance verification required.
  • Must pass an MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) check and maintain a good driving record.

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services, workforce development, nonprofit management, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Actively promote and embody Chattanooga Goodwill’s Mission, Vision, and Values in all actions and decisions, aligning efforts with the organization’s guiding principles.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all agencies, employees, and participant information. Breach of confidentiality may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
  • Oversee the design and phased implementation of GIGCA’s Mission Integration plan (2025–2030).
  • Implement and manage the Success Coaching System, ensuring all employees—regardless of department—are offered access to coaching.
  • Utilize the Self-Sufficiency Matrix to assess employee needs and inform individualized support and development plans.
  • Operationalize the “Stay–Grow–Go” framework to help employees identify their career direction and align with internal or external opportunities.
  • Facilitate pathways for all staff to prepare for internal credentials, promotions, cross-training opportunities, or career transitions.
  • Supervise the Mission Integration Specialists, ensuring they provide high-quality, equitable support across all departments and locations.
  • Support consistent experience for employees accessing coaching and resources, whether in stores, administration, operations, etc.
  • Track and report on engagement, outcomes, and advancement among all participating employees.
  • Assist with the creation of Career Pathway Toolkits that represent growth opportunities across GIGCA—not just in retail, but also in warehousing, logistics, admin, IT, and leadership.
  • Coordinate with HR and L&D to develop and roll out internal micro-credentials that support progression into roles such as team leads, supervisors, specialists, and managers across departments.
  • Provide oversight and support to Mission Integration Specialists in connecting employees to community-based resources such as transportation, housing, and healthcare.
  • Maintain a limited caseload or location assignment to actively pilot new tools and approaches, allowing for real-time evaluation of what is and isn’t working and ensuring continuous improvement of mission integration efforts.
  • Work with HR to integrate personal growth goals and upskilling opportunities into performance reviews for all employee categories.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and other supporting departments to showcase staff accomplishments—such as promotions, credential attainment, and personal growth—through success stories, recognition events, and features on the Goodwill Broadcast System (GBS).
  • Support and participate in One Goodwill events to celebrate career mobility and employee achievements across the organization.
  • Promote and support the use of My Career Advisor as the centralized platform for employee development, encouraging all Goodwill team members to access training modules, coaching tools, career planning resources, credential pathways, and development tracking through the system.
  • Serve as the lead for developing and managing partnerships with local service providers, educational institutions, and credential bodies.
  • Build systems that ensure all employees, regardless of department, have access to resources that support both life stability and career advancement.
  • Seek funding through grants and workforce development sources to support organization-wide coaching and credentialing initiatives.
  • Track KPI’s such as: Coaching engagement and satisfaction. Credential and promotion rates across all teams. Goal completion rates using the Self-Sufficiency Matrix.
  • Regularly assess equity and access to services across departments, sites, and roles.
  • Produce timely reports for executive leadership and external stakeholders on impact and growth.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
