About The Position

The Mission Equipment Payload (MEP) Avionics Technician (AVI) is to provide MEP/Avionics maintenance support to sustain ISR operations. The MEP/AVI Technician is responsible for configuring and monitoring the satellite hub operations to maintain connectivity and ensure continuous operational support. The technician is responsible for multiple ISR sensors to include but not limited to FMV/FLIR, SIGINT, SAR and BLoS systems. The technician is also responsible for troubleshooting and repairing avionics systems including communications, navigation, autopilot, weather radar, transponders, and glass cockpit systems. The Mission Equipment Payload (MEP) Avionics Technician (AVI) will work only when training or on a deployment rotation supporting CONUS or OCONUS collection missions. All other times they will be on leave without pay (LWOP), unless authorized by Management. Although training will be conducted in Titusville, FL, relocation is not required for this position. Requirements

  • Minimum of four (4) Years’ recent experience in general aviation.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Airborne ISR Mission Systems experience.
  • Read and interpret aircraft diagrams, charts, and schematics.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced using computers and aircraft software.
  • Must be able to successfully pass background check.
  • Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment and active-employment drug screenings.
  • Currently possess or able to obtain an active DoD Secret clearance, or higher.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree.
  • Familiar with DCMA 8210 & FGOP.
  • Experience with Cessna 337 Skymaster.
  • Experience with Garmin G5, Garmin 430 and 530.
  • Certification from a sensor manufacturer (L3 Wescam or FLIR) for depot-level sensor maintenance is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide MEP/Avionics maintenance support to sustain ISR operations.
  • Configure and monitor satellite hub operations to maintain connectivity and ensure continuous operational support.
  • Support multiple ISR sensors including FMV/FLIR, SIGINT, SAR, and BLoS systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair avionics systems including communications, navigation, autopilot, weather radar, transponders, and glass cockpit systems.
  • Use electronic test equipment (i.e. multi-meters, power meters, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE)).
  • Perform maintenance operations for various special mission systems in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Accomplish software, hardware, and network troubleshooting to identify concerns and provide resolution.
  • Perform installation, implementation, and configuration of mission systems.
  • Install new avionics components and wiring per Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) wiring diagrams, and drawings.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, findings, and recommendations.
  • Participate in design reviews, integration testing, and system validation.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and partners as required.
  • Comply with established policies, procedures and standards.
  • Comply with all safety, environmental security and housekeeping standards.
  • Comply with all training requirements.
  • Operate special purpose and regular vehicles as authorized.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
