About The Position

Swarm Aero is redefining air power by building the largest swarming UAV and the most versatile swarming aircraft network globally. The company is rapidly developing its first aircraft specifically for swarming, along with Command & Control software to manage swarms of thousands of heterogeneous autonomous assets. This software empowers human operators to achieve superior results. The team comprises individuals with extensive startup experience, billions in defense deal negotiations, and a history of designing and building over 30 novel aircraft, with aerospace expertise from prominent companies like Scaled Composites, Airbus, Archer Aviation, Blue Origin, and Boom Supersonic. As a Mission Development Lead (Software), your primary role will be to expand the adoption and reach of our leading Legion software product. You will engage directly with customers to understand their unique needs, act as their internal advocate by collaborating closely with engineering teams, and identify and secure new opportunities.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in business development, capture, product management, or technical sales, ideally in defense or another regulated industry.
  • Experience working with complex hardware/software systems and the technical teams that build them.
  • Track record of managing multi-stakeholder technical projects or accounts.
  • Comfort operating with government or military customers (prior DoD, military, or contractor experience a plus).
  • Ability to travel 25 – 75% required.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State to conform to U.S. Government export regulations.

  • Work closely with clients to deeply understand their challenges and missions from first principles and translate this understanding to colleagues.
  • Be directly involved in product development by working closely with Swarm Aero engineers to build relevant products for client operational needs.
  • Proactively and continuously learn about customer needs and the potential of technology to address them.
  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue opportunities, and contribute ideas to team members.
  • Provide organization and insight to complex information to enable clear transfer of perspectives, generating effective communications through artifacts like white papers, proposals, presentations, and analysis for internal and external audiences.
  • Create organization as the company and your portfolio grow, taking on increased leadership in mission execution and managing parallel threads.
  • Manage complex accounts and relationships efficiently and precisely.
