About The Position

As a Mission Critical Engineer 1 at Novva Data Centers, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and environmental sustainability of our data center's critical infrastructure. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining and optimizing the systems that support our clients' mission-critical operations, with a focus on diesel generators, HVAC, and chillers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field (relevant certifications or experience may substitute).
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in critical environmental systems engineering within a data center or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of environmental systems, including HVAC, chillers, and diesel generators.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in the context of environmental sustainability and critical systems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • A commitment to environmental sustainability in data center operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of environmental systems, including HVAC, chillers, and diesel generators.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans for environmental systems to reduce the risk of equipment failures and improve overall efficiency.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact in data center operations.
  • Ensure the reliability and readiness of diesel generators, including regular testing and maintenance to support uninterrupted power supply during outages.
  • Monitor, maintain, and optimize HVAC and chiller systems to maintain ideal temperature and humidity levels within the data center.
  • Ensure that all environmental systems meet regulatory compliance and industry standards for data center operations, particularly focusing on environmental sustainability.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to ensure timely equipment servicing and maintenance for environmental systems.
  • Play a key role in emergency response and disaster recovery efforts related to environmental systems, minimizing the impact of critical system failures on data center operations.
