We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this, we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work hand-in-hand with our customers. The Capability Verification Center within Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities is searching for a Missile Tech to work for our NAVY Team at White Sands Missile Range, NM. This position is an onsite role. Support needs may occur over weekends or holidays, and may require extended hours. Missile Tech will handle ordnance, process missiles, prep missiles for testing and load and unload as required for missile movement. In addition to this, track inventory, train and qualify for area and ensure items are delivered to meet customers’ schedules. The Missile Tech will take direction from the program Lead/Area Lead and Section Lead to align with program needs and work with the team on compliance requirements from RTX and local command media. Candidates will collaborate with multi-disciplined teams while supporting multiple projects to achieve timely execution and completion of established goals, as well as support general facility maintenance. The candidate will work in an engineering environment to support and facilitate testing of engineering hardware in accordance with customer and internal requirements and industry standards. This may also include working across multiple programs and on general MCVC support.

Requirements

  • Typically requires an Associates or prior missile processing experience
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or engineering lab environment area
  • Experience working with Ordnance
  • Ability to get certified to use a forklift and crane within 6 months from start date
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with test equipment (scope/multimeter etc..)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software and database applications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated performance working in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Work in a team environment to meet program milestones
  • Participate in process improvements that may include WI reviews to enhance processes
  • Assembles, disassembles and services missile components in preparation for testing
  • Performs inspection, repairs, and assists in troubleshooting
  • Maintains tool control, and works with the team to ensure area compliance
  • Engage in all processes and adjust to meet customer demand during evolving changing environments
  • Other duties as assigned
