About The Position

This role is for a Missile Defense Systems (MDS) Test & Evaluation Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join the Engineering Services Division in Huntsville, AL. The successful candidate will be part of a team supporting the Missile Defense System – Operational Test Agency (MDS-OTA), which provides independent operational assessment of the MDS capability to defend against missiles. The MDS OTA Team partners with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and the warfighter community throughout the test, assessment, and analysis lifecycle, supporting operational missile defense testing from concept development to reporting. This role involves supporting ground, flight, and cyber test events, providing expertise for systems-of-systems supporting Strategic, Theater/Regional, and Guam Missile Defense Systems.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree
10 years of full-time professional experience
Possess or can obtain an active SECRET clearance
U.S. citizen

15 years of experience in Missile Defense System Operations and Testing
Experience with Department of Defense (DoD), integrated test philosophy, test regulations, and the planning and coordination of Test and Evaluation (T&E) programs.
Experience conducting operational testing and assessing the effectiveness, suitability, and survivability of weapon systems.
Experience with requirements development, derivation, traceability, and requirements management throughout the system lifecycle.
Strong ability to communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders across multiple organizational levels, including Program Management, technical leadership, and junior engineering staff.
Ability to collaborate within cross-functional teams to support program objectives, technical reviews, and mission-critical decision-making.

Responsibilities

Support operational missile defense testing from initial concept development and requirements definition through test planning, execution, analysis, and operational assessment reporting.
Support a broad range of ground, flight, and cyber test events while providing subject matter expertise for systems-of-systems supporting Strategic, Theater/Regional, and Guam Missile Defense Systems.
Coordinate the planning and execution of system-level operational testing by developing test objectives, integrating test architectures and resources, and collaborating with key stakeholders, including the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), Combatant Commands (CCMDs), and the Director of Operational Test and Evaluation (DOT&E).
Support test execution and observation to ensure operational objectives are achieved.
Document test activities and results.
Ensure the successful integration of operational requirements throughout the testing process.
Develop and maintain critical operational test documentation, such as Operational Test Plans, Operational Test Readiness Reviews, Test Concept Briefings, and Initial Observation Reports.
Perform preliminary analysis of test data to evaluate the operational effectiveness and suitability of the Missile Defense System.
Prepare technical reports and executive-level briefings that communicate observations, findings, risk assessments, and recommendations to government and military leadership.
