About The Position
Maine Steel, a division of Tech Air, is a leading specialty trade contractor and custom fabrication shop. We take pride in delivering high-quality, precision-engineered miscellaneous metals and light structural steel for diverse commercial construction projects. From monumental stairs to intricate handrails, if our clients can dream it, we can design and build it. We are looking for an initiative-taking CAD Detailer/Drafts-person to join our fast-paced design and engineering team.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2-3+ years of dedicated experience drafting and detailing miscellaneous metals or structural steel.
- Tekla/Trimble/AutoCAD proficiency.
- Strong baseline understanding of steel fabrication methods, field installation constraints, and common building codes.
- Ability to read complex blueprints and visualize structures in a 3D environment.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated mindset with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Translate architectural and structural plans into accurate, fabrication-ready shop drawings and erection plans.
- Work closely with project managers, estimators, and the shop floor to ensure all metal components are code-compliant, constructible, and detailed to perfection.
