Minor League Field Manager - Fayetteville
About The Position
The Minor League Manager serves as a uniformed coach for the Fayetteville Woodpeckers, the organization's minor league affiliate in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Working with the Field Coordinator and local affiliate staff—including the Pitching Coach, Hitting Coach, Development Coach, Strength Coach, and Athletic Trainer—the manager develops and executes an optimized daily team schedule and is responsible for player development in infield and outfield defense, baserunning, and in-game execution. This full-time, exempt role requires a flexible schedule and travel throughout the season.
Requirements
- Coaching experience.
- Ability to understand and advocate for changes based on new information and/or tools in baseball.
- Interest in strength and conditioning and analytics.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Nice To Haves
- Professional or collegiate playing experience.
- Fluency in Spanish.
Responsibilities
- Create and coordinate the daily schedule at the designated location, collaborating to support all departmental needs.
- Lead player development in defense and baserunning.
- Assist with evaluating and coaching team fundamentals.
- Assist staff and players in implementing systems and technologies.
- Assist with proper execution of prescribed in-game pitching, hitting, and defensive strategies.
- Maintain high, positive standards and expectations for self, staff, and players at the designated location.
- Effectively lead and manage a minor league team throughout the season.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
