About The Position

The San Diego Padres are seeking a Minor League Athletic Trainer to cover athletic training responsibilities for their Rookie team in Peoria, AZ. This role involves coverage of spring training, the Arizona Complex League season, and post-season camp. Duties include daily treatments, documentation of treatments, arranging doctor's appointments, administrative tasks, and managing supply orders and the supply budget.

Requirements

  • Proficient computer skills including experience with MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc., and general knowledge of basic office equipment including copier, laser printer, telephone, and computer
  • Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and effectively work well with others in a collaborative, respectful manner
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills with capacity to handle high volumes of detailed work, multi-task and manage projects on strict deadlines
  • Maintain professional demeanor with a high degree of discretion, integrity, and accountability
  • Maintain consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance
  • Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment
  • 4-year Bachelor’s Degree, or education equivalent from an accredited college or university
  • Current NATA-BOC Certification, in good standing
  • CPR/AED certification is required
  • Must have a valid current driver's license with a good driving record (subject to review)
  • Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours as needed
  • Able to travel as needed
  • Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time during games and events; able to lift and transport up to 50 pounds
  • As a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check

Nice To Haves

  • Fluently bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred
  • Previous baseball experience and working in an Athletic Training program or high-level private group training setting, is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Covering athletic training duties during Spring Training, ACL Season, and post-season camp
  • Providing daily treatments for prevention and rehabilitation
  • Documenting provided treatments within the MLB EMR system
  • Arranging doctor’s appointments and other administrative tasks
  • Managing the supply budget and regularly submitting supply orders
  • Other job duties as necessary
