JOB DESCRIPTION: Direct Supervisor: Ben Jensen Job Title: Ministry Leader - Sending This is a FULL-TIME staff position Job Responsibilities Staff Mobilization (70%): Investing in Cornerstone’s staff to create a vision for long-term missional living. This will primarily be within Salt staff with a focus on Salt Network church planting. There would be structured and organic training opportunities with our most sendable and shapable staff. This staff will be mobilized into one of the other three categories we discussed. You will be embedded on the Salt staff team focusing on Resident development, recruiting key leaders to staff and pursuing students who should ultimately be developed and mobilized. Salt Network Church Planting (20%): Assisting—and ultimately taking a partner or lead role—in some of Cornerstone’s collegiate church planting efforts. Currently, I fill the role of recruitment, training/development, launching, and managing of our 2 plants/year. There are a lot of opportunities to help here and a good program for you to ultimately be point on the plants that make sense. This is primarily an investment in lead pastors up and through the launch of the church, and then a position on that church’s board until autonomy. Rural Iowa Church Planting (6%): Assisting in whatever the next phase of rural Iowa church planting is. This may involve a video campus model or autonomous church planting efforts. Likely a combination of both. Global Strategy/Sending (4%): Assisting in Cornerstone’s global partnership and mobilization efforts. As we pivot from primarily sending Americans to do frontline work, we need an advocate for ministry partnerships similar to what we saw on this trip. We want to mobilize the profile types we discussed (executive pastor/strategists or entrepreneur/go-getters) to maximize local believer movements. We need more minds, humility, curiosity and relational energy going toward the best way for Cornerstone to uniquely use our gifts for how God is moving globally.
