About The Position

A Ministry Apprenticeship is for individuals who sense a calling to vocational ministry and seek to develop ministry skills and gain the experience necessary to grow in their gifts. A Ministry Apprentice serves under the supervision of a Ministry Director and the guidance of a Pastor, and together, they will provide opportunities, feedback, and support to discern future ministry roles.

  • Help grow the campus worship team through coordinators and personal recruitment.
  • Help lead worship on campus weekly.
  • Attend weekly Worship staff team meetings and be a contributing voice to the team.
  • Assist in implementing strategies for recruiting more student worship members.
  • Increase engagement for students in worship.
  • Help create environments that remove barriers and attract high school students.
  • Leading worship occasionally with the am/pm teams.

Responsibilities

  • Help Shepherd and Pastor the worship and production team, including discipling and leading people in the band to grow in their love for Jesus, pastoring and caring for the team, teaching how to lead in tandem with the Holy Spirit’s promptings, discipling them in their theology of worship, and helping the team grow in their craft.
  • Help oversee worship elements for assigned services, working with the Central Echo Students Worship Director to plan and coordinate songs and creative elements.
  • Help oversee Current team Coordinators, leading and coaching female worship leaders on the campus, conducting weekly check-ins, and teaching them to recruit leaders.
  • Help oversee and Recruit Band, developing future musicians and song leaders, creating chord charts and distributing them via Planning Center, scheduling band members at least one month out, and communicating details for services weekly to team members. This includes double-checking chord chart accuracy and recording arrangement/key before distribution, creating/completing sets at least two weeks out, notating who is leading the song for lighting, communicating weekly details for each service in a timely manner, and teaching the team the Nashville Number system.
  • Assist with growing Worship teams and culture in Student ministry at NSJ.
  • Shepherd and coach female worship leaders on the campus.
  • Perform Ableton/Playback Responsibilities, working with the Central Students Worship Director to create weekly sets in Ableton/Playback and adapting sets to the key needs of the campus team.
  • Perform ProPresenter Responsibilities, creating prompter playlists per week with correct keyed songs and moving to the Nashville Number system.
  • Help grow the campus worship team through coordinators and personal recruitment.
  • Help lead worship on campus weekly.
  • Attend weekly Worship staff team meetings and be a contributing voice to the team.
  • Assist in implementing strategies for recruiting more student worship members.
  • Increase engagement for students in worship.
  • Help create environments that remove barriers and attract high school students.
  • Leading worship occasionally with the am/pm teams.
  • Praying for and giving spiritual advice to others.
  • Leading others to worship by helping them serve with their gifts.
  • Teaching and leading Echo Groups.
  • Sharing the Gospel message with clarity.
  • Performing baptisms, funerals, and serving communion.
  • Officiating wedding ceremonies.
