About The Position

Lake Mead Christian Ministries (LMCM) is seeking a Minister - High School (9th & 10th) English Teacher. This full-time position within the High School Department reports to the Director of High School. The role involves teaching multiple English courses for 9th and 10th graders, including honors sections, and a prep period. The position requires adherence to specific spiritual qualities, including acknowledging Christ as Savior, supporting the LMCM Mission, demonstrating spiritual disciplines, believing in the Bible's authority, agreeing with the LMCM Statement of Faith, showing the fruit of the Holy Spirit, maintaining a Christ-centered home, and actively participating in an evangelical local church. The teacher will be responsible for lesson planning, grading, providing student feedback, communicating with parents, following school policies, collaborating with department heads, and utilizing platforms like Google Classroom and FACTS. The role also includes assigning various assessments and has the potential for dual enrollment approval.

Requirements

Possesses the ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check and fingerprinting.
A valid degree (minimum of a BA or BS) from an accredited institution of higher education.
Experience in the classroom
Acknowledges Christ as Savior and lives life as His devoted disciple.
Supports the LMCM Mission by making disciples of Jesus Christ through community.
Demonstrates spiritual flourishing through personal disciplines of prayer, Bible study, and outreach to others.
Believes the Bible to be the inspired and authoritative Word of God.

Attends and actively participates in an evangelical local church.

Will be expected to get ACSI certified within 12 months of being hired.

Responsibilities

Writes weekly lesson plans.
Grades materials in a timely manner and enters them into FACTS.
Gives students consistent and regular feedback.
Reaches out to parents regularly to communicate student successes, challenges, and behaviors.
Follows school policies in the classroom.
Works with a subject department head in scheduling the curriculum for the school year.
Will use Google Classroom and FACTS.
Assigns daily work including quizzes (1 to 2 a week), 3 tests or papers per quarter, and at least 2 cumulative tests a year.
