About The Position

Positioned at the Tizert mining site, the Mining Ventilation Engineer is responsible for designing, optimizing, and monitoring ventilation systems to ensure personnel safety, air quality, and the operational performance of underground mining activities.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of industrial ventilation, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics.
  • Good understanding of mining safety standards and HSE requirements.
  • Strong analytical, calculation, and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in simulation and design software (VentSim, AutoCAD, CFD, etc.).
  • Ability to work effectively in field and industrial mining environments.
  • Team spirit, rigor, and operational responsiveness.
  • Experience in technical and energy performance reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional training in HSE/QHSE is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize mine ventilation networks.
  • Calculate airflow requirements according to mining zones and operational needs.
  • Ensure air quality and compliance with applicable safety standards.
  • Supervise primary and secondary ventilation systems.
  • Monitor gas levels, dust, heat, and humidity in underground areas.
  • Conduct airflow simulations and analyze results to support decision-making.
  • Participate in mine expansion and development studies.
  • Implement emergency ventilation and fire response plans.
  • Analyze the energy performance of ventilation systems.
  • Ensure follow-up of safety inspections and HSE compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with production, mine planning, geology, maintenance, and safety teams.
