About The Position

We are seeking an Mining / Geological Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 who is passionate about sustainability, driven by curiosity and keen to grow, learn, develop and thrive in our high-performance culture. This opportunity will be a 10-week, paid internship beginning June 1, 2027. This internship will be based at our site in Golden, CO, with the possibility of travel to other sites.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program majoring in Mine Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or a closely related field.
Strong academic performance with a solid understanding of engineering principles.
Geographic flexibility to work at various sites.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
High energy and a proactive approach to tackling new challenges.
A team player who can collaborate across different levels of the organization.
Willingness to spend significant time in the field, gaining hands-on experience and firsthand knowledge of our business operations.

Responsibilities

Assist with surveying and mapping surface mine advances, geological features, and key operational structures.
Support short- and mid-term mine planning initiatives in close collaboration with the Mine Planning and Resource Management Team.
Help analyze blasting efficiency, including cost tracking, fragmentation analysis, and production impact evaluations.
Collaborate with various departments such as geology, engineering, and safety to understand the full spectrum of operations.
Assist in the implementation and monitoring of safety protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Assist in maintaining and updating required federal and state regulatory documentation (MSHA, ATF, etc.).
Utilize a range of skills and knowledge in day-to-day operations, working collaboratively to achieve team and company goals.
At the end of your internship, you'll present your learnings and contributions to our executive leadership team.
