About The Position

ZF Services, LLC is seeking a skilled Mining Gearbox Mechanic to join their team in Vernon Hills, IL. This role involves diagnosing and troubleshooting gearboxes, inspecting and reassembling them, and performing failure analysis. The mechanic will also be responsible for receiving inventory, preparing units for shipment, and maintaining safety standards, including respirator certifications. This position plays a crucial part in ensuring the quality and functionality of ZF's mining gearbox products.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required
3+ Years disassembling, assembling, inspecting industrial heavy equipment transmissions and gear boxes
Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints and hydraulic schematics
Read, interpret and implement product specific updates and changes from OEM documents
Must be able to safely handle and measure industrial coatings while monitoring PSI regulators during operation
Must be able to qualify for a Powered Industrial Truck certification
Must be able to qualify for industrial respirator certification
Must be able to read and write English
Strong verbal and written communication skills required
Strong computer skills required
Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

Diagnose/Troubleshoot gearboxes and inspect and report failure analysis of product and parts
Inspect and reassemble gearboxes including implementing product updates
Test product to ensure functionality
Communicate with customer service for product analysis and customer support
Receive inventory
Prep, paint and skid units
Stage and organize WIP for paint
Keep up on all safety checklists and input paint specs to safety team
Maintain respirator certifications
Performs related tasks as assigned
