About The Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Mining Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. This 10-week paid internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in the aggregates industry, contribute to ongoing projects, and develop key production and leadership skills. The intern will be immersed in operational procedures, data analysis, and daily mine operations, collaborating with various departments and presenting findings to executive leadership. This role is ideal for students passionate about sustainability and eager to grow within a high-performance culture.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program majoring in Mine Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar fields.
  • Strong academic performance with a solid understanding of engineering principles.
  • Geographic flexibility to work at various sites.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • High energy and a proactive approach to tackling new challenges.
  • A team player who can collaborate across different levels of the organization.
  • Willingness to spend significant time in the field, gaining hands-on experience and firsthand knowledge of our business operations.

Responsibilities

  • Dive into operational procedures, production/maintenance activities, and product knowledge at Aggregate sites.
  • Understand and optimize mechanical, maintenance, and production processes.
  • Collect and analyze data, identify process correlations, and contribute to strategy development for ongoing projects.
  • Gain hands-on experience with daily mine operations, including drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling activities.
  • Learn about the maintenance and operation of heavy mining equipment alongside operators.
  • Collaborate with geology, engineering, and safety departments to understand operations.
  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Utilize skills and knowledge in day-to-day operations, working collaboratively to achieve team and company goals.
  • Present internship learnings and contributions to the executive leadership team at the end of the internship.
