About The Position

Brice Engineering LLC is seeking a Mining Engineer III for the Donlin Gold project in Anchorage, AK. This role is responsible for developing, synthesizing, reviewing, and documenting data related to mechanical design, piping, and process design for mining operations. Key tasks include drafting, reviewing, and finalizing pre-FEED and FEED design documents for mining facilities, pipelines, and infrastructure. The position also involves providing field support, including potential site supervision, and utilizing mining operations knowledge to support field efforts and documentation. The Mining Engineer will also assist the Program Manager in identifying opportunities for business growth.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Structural Engineering or other engineering discipline.
Five to fifteen years of experience working on natural resource, mining, and process operations projects.
A broad understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
Valid state driver’s license and qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Company’s Driving Policy.
Ability to pass drug and background screening.
Strong knowledge of the practical application of mechanical, civil, electrical, mining, or process engineering science and technology.
Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Ability to use analytical skills alongside scientific rules and methods to solve problems and apply logic and reasoning.
Basic computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs.
Effective oral and technical written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and confidentially process and maintain data with accuracy.
Ability to effectively lead projects and work with multi-disciplined teams.

Nice To Haves

PE in Alaska preferred; PE in other states (or ability to obtain license in these states) a plus.
40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations certificate preferred.
Familiar with federal and state regulations relating to stormwater, wastewater, air quality/emissions, oil storage, and waste in PE-licensed state(s).
Familiarity with federal and state regulations relating to environmental restoration projects in same state(s) a plus.
Experience in federal government projects is highly desired.
ArcGIS experience preferred.
Experience with Health and Safety functions a plus.

Responsibilities

Conduct design review of key engineering documents from EPCM providers.
Work with technicians and technical staff in data collection, site inspection/investigation, and data evaluation.
Provide scientific and technical guidance, support, coordination, and oversight to project staff preparing written project documentation.
Review and document processes for obtaining, developing, and updating design documents, plans, reports, licenses, and other project requirements.
Review and document mechanical technical standards, guidelines, policies, and regulations.
Prepare charts or graphs from data samples, providing summary information on environmental relevance.
Participate and lead in creating an effective team dynamic.
Lead project planning and RFP responses.
Serve as Deputy PM for specific projects and assist with client requests.
Lead operations associated with key team deliverables.
Lead a proactive safety culture.
Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Perform other duties as directed.
Manage the workflow of employees, create team schedules, and delegate tasks.
Assess work performance of employees and identify areas for improvement.
Ensure business goals, deadlines, and performance standards are met.
Train and onboard new hires.
Set goals for workers and ensure compliance with company plans and vision.
Report performance records and evaluations to HR and senior management.
