About The Position

The Mine Truck Driver position is expected to work as a valued member of the mining operations team. This job consists primarily of operating a tandem dump truck to transport clay and other raw materials from the mine stockpiles to the plant mixing operation. The Mine Truck Driver may also operate a water truck to control dust on mine roads leading to the brick manufacturing plant.

Requirements

Ability to read, write, and understand written instructions, safety procedures, and production documentation
Basic mechanical aptitude
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers
Ability to maintain attention to safety and security standards
Strong mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of equipment maintenance.
Ability to read and interpret operational manuals, production schedules, and safety guidelines.
Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Physical stamina and the ability to work in outdoor and industrial environments under varying weather conditions.
Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
Stand for long periods, and work in varied environments (heat, dust, noise)
Comfortable working in high-temperature environments.
Proven experience operating heavy equipment, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
Ability to pass all required safety training.

Responsibilities

Operate company-owned trucks in a constant state of alertness and safe manner to facilitate material transport.
Properly follow company and MSHA safety procedures.
Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or needed repairs to the superintendent; clean equipment as required.
Follow daily procedures and protocols as set forth in job assignments and training.
Maintain and protect all property in excellent condition.
Assist in training lower-level employees in the operation, maintenance, and repair duties as required or assigned.
Must follow all company safety policies and procedures
Must complete and pass all required safety training
Must wear required PPE while performing job duties
Must immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, or injuries
Participate in safety meetings
