About The Position

As the Mine Manager at Jerritt Canyon Gold, this role will provide strategic, visible operational leadership during a significant ramp-up phase at the Jerritt Canyon Mine, with primary focus on underground execution and accountability for safe, efficient, and cost-effective performance across both underground and surface activities. Jerritt Canyon is building the operating systems, leadership routines, and workforce capability needed to support a disciplined restart and ramp-up of mining operations. This role requires a proven mining leader with underground experience, strong business acumen, and the ability to translate mine plans into disciplined daily execution. The successful candidate will bring technical credibility in stoping, drift-and-fill mining, rehabilitation, development, ground support, ventilation coordination, and production performance while leading teams through change, strengthening systems, and delivering results with people, health, safety, environmental stewardship, and compliance at the center of every decision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline is preferred; substantial operating experience in lieu of a formal qualification may be considered.
  • Minimum fifteen years of progressive mining experience, including substantial underground operations leadership responsibility at the superintendent, manager, or equivalent level.
  • Strong technical and operational knowledge of underground mining methods and systems, including stoping, drift-and-fill mining, rehabilitation, development, ground support, ventilation, backfill coordination, services, and production execution.
  • Demonstrated success leading mining teams through growth, restart, ramp-up, turnaround, expansion, or other major operational change while maintaining safety, compliance, and production performance in a complex mine-site environment.
  • Proven ability to build high-performing teams, strengthen frontline leadership, and create clear accountability in a fast-paced operating environment.
  • Strong business acumen with experience managing operating and capital budgets, production plans, cost drivers, contractors, equipment utilization, workforce plans, and operational performance metrics.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional departments to resolve constraints, improve systems, and achieve site-wide objectives.
  • Experience with both underground and surface mining operations is preferred; experience in MSHA-regulated operations is strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Jerritt Canyon mining operations through a large-scale restart and ramp-up by converting life-of-mine priorities, short-interval plans, compliance requirements, and business objectives into safe, practical, and executable operating plans.
  • Provide strong, field-visible leadership to underground and surface teams, contractors, technical partners, and frontline leaders, with a primary focus on underground production, development, and rehabilitation execution.
  • Build effective collaboration across Jerritt Canyon operations, technical services, maintenance, processing, health and safety, environmental compliance, human resources, supply chain, finance, and site leadership to align resources, remove barriers, and support reliable production performance.
  • Set clear expectations for performance, safety, cost, quality, and accountability while developing a high-performing culture grounded in trust, communication, operational discipline, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee underground mining activities, including stoping, drift-and-fill mining, development, rehabilitation, services, and production support.
  • Support surface operations and ensure effective coordination between underground, surface, maintenance, technical, and processing teams.
  • Partner with technical services and cross-functional leaders to execute practical mine plans, improve sequencing, manage constraints, address regulatory and compliance obligations, and support safe advancement of the ramp-up plan.
  • Drive operating discipline in daily planning, short-interval control, shift execution, crew readiness, equipment utilization, ground control, ventilation coordination, material movement, contractor performance, and production reconciliation.
  • Champion a people-first, health-and-safety-first culture with clear field presence, proactive risk management, and consistent reinforcement of critical controls.
  • Ensure compliance with Jerritt Canyon Gold company standards, MSHA requirements, environmental obligations, permitting commitments, standard operating procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Lead incident reviews, corrective actions, and continuous learning to reduce risk, improve controls, and strengthen operational reliability.
  • Model courageous leadership by making decisions that protect people, support safe production, and reinforce long-term operational integrity.
  • Lead through significant operational change by creating structure, removing barriers, and helping teams adapt quickly while maintaining focus on safety and production priorities.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that strengthen planning reliability, productivity, cost control, equipment effectiveness, contractor management, crew execution, and overall cost-per-tonne performance.
  • Apply innovative thinking and practical problem-solving to improve systems, challenge legacy approaches, and deliver measurable operating results.
  • Monitor safety, production, development, rehabilitation, budget, cost, schedule, compliance commitments, and workforce performance indicators; use data and field observations to take timely corrective action and achieve safe, sustainable results.
  • Lead, coach, and develop superintendents, supervisors, and frontline leaders to strengthen decision-making, succession depth, communication, and consistent execution across crews and departments.
  • Support annual and rolling budget development, workforce planning, equipment planning, capital prioritization, and resource allocation to meet ramp-up, production, cost, and safety objectives.
