The Mine Geologist provides day-to-day geological support to mining operations, working closely with Mine Operations, Engineering, Exploration, Process, Safety, and Survey. The position is involved in grade control, pit and blasthole mapping, ore routing, reconciliation, geological modeling, and near-mine exploration activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related earth science field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and data quality
  • Ability to interpret geological and assay data and communicate findings effectively

Responsibilities

  • Perform pit and blast pattern mapping and interpret geological contacts, structures, alteration, and material types
  • Analyze blasthole assay and geological data to help define ore and waste boundaries, optimize grade, and minimize dilution
  • Support grade control, ore routing, blending, and appropriate leach pad placement

  • Monitor and document geological conditions within active mining areas
  • Provide geological information to support short- and long-term mine planning
  • Assist with month-end geological and reconciliation reporting
  • Maintain digital geological and pit mapping data and support development of 3D geological models
  • Work with Exploration to identify and evaluate potential near-mine drilling targets
  • Support RC drilling programs, including drill supervision and chip logging, as needed
